For 33 years, Tim Beekmann dedicated his career to Eden Prairie Schools, leaving an indelible impact on thousands of students, families and staff members. His journey began in 1992 at Prairie View Elementary, where he spent 15 years teaching first through fourth grade.

Known for his creativity and passion for making learning memorable, Beekmann integrated art and music into his classroom and guided students in writing and performing an original musical each year. These experiences not only brought learning to life, but also fostered a strong sense of community among his students. Beekmann’s leadership journey continued as Prairie View’s educational coordinator and as associate principal at Eden Lake Elementary. He then served as Eden Lake principal for more than decade, where he built a school culture rooted in kindness, inclusion and meaningful relationships.

Beekmann learned the names of nearly every student at his school and created a safe, welcoming environment where every child felt seen and valued. Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, when he helped transition nearly 550 students to online and hybrid learning, Beekmann remained steadfast in preserving a strong sense of connection and community. Throughout his career, Beekmann was nominated numerous times for the Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools Staff Member of the Year Award and served on the board of PROP Food Shelf, reflecting his care for families beyond the school walls.

As an exceptional educator and empathetic leader, Beekmann paved a path for students, staff and families to experience authentic belonging. His legacy is one of unwavering compassion and dedication to making school a place of acceptance, joy and possibility for each member of its community.
