Ryan Iversen (‘98) was a standout athlete at Eden Prairie High School, excelling in both football and basketball. As a senior, he led the Eagles to their second-consecutive state football championship and was named Associated Press Player of the Year for Minnesota. A key contributor on both sides of the ball, Iversen starred as an inside linebacker and wide receiver during the team’s dominant run.

Iversen also left an indelible mark on the basketball court. As a guard, he lettered for three years and finished his high school career with 1,740 points — becoming Eden Prairie’s all-time leading scorer for 17 years and setting a Lake Conference scoring record. He holds the school record for career rebounds and was named Minnesota Basketball News Player of the Year after his standout senior season. He capped off his high school career in 1998 by receiving the prestigious Scott Ryski Memorial Award, which honors the top senior male athlete.

After high school, Iversen attended the University of Delaware, where he flourished as a three-year basketball starter. There, he earned All-Conference and All-Academic Conference honors and made school history as the first player to record a triple-double. After graduation, Iversen played basketball professionally in Australia and coached college basketball.

Iversen says his life was deeply shaped by his experience as an athlete at Eden Prairie, including learning how to compete, how to prepare and how to lead — all of which continue to drive him today.
